The filtered water does not mix with tap water in the ClearTap: the filtered water passes through a tube in the ClearTap that is completely separate from the waterway that the unfiltered water travels. It is therefore unnecessary to flush out the tap to remove unfiltered water before drinking the filtered water. The water coming out of the ClearTap while in the filtered position will always be filtered water. | |||
| What if I am in a hard water area? | The filter is still able to reduce lead when exposed to hard water. Chlorine reduction does also not appear to be effected by hard water. | |||
